Teeze, Lechani & Loraxx
After connecting in New York, Teeze, Lechani and Loraxx united forces and leaped foot first into the creation of their own genre. Blending bilingual lyrics with a reimagined old school groove, they released their first collaborative single in December 2019, named ‘Kick Back’. Independent, versatile and free thinking, these 3 brothers draw their inspiration from a wide range of sounds and time periods. After leaving New York with a tough goodbye due to covid, they’ve set up their musical headquarters ‘Downtime Studios’ in London. Teeze’s production is heavily inspired by the greats like Q-Tip, Pete Rock and J Dilla, who kindled his childhood in Rotterdam and pushed him to pack his bags and take his musical journey to the next stop.
Lechani and Loraxx are both from London where they grew up in francophone households. They began freestyling after school at a young age with Nogabedo. Their hobby morphed into a desire to create their own sound and leave a long lasting musical mark on our generation. Now living between New York and London, they bring forth playful lyrics and seamless back and forths. On this track, they drew their inspiration from legendary collaborations between Guru and Mc Solaar on the album Jazzmatazz and Alpha Wann and Nekfeu on parisian records “Compte les hommes” and “Vinyle”. With a tempest of new projects on the way, Teeze Lechani and Loraxx are ones to look out for as we enter a new musical decade.
