Set to really put Melbourne on the music map is rapper Benny Morrell. Strongly considered as Australia’s answer to the likes of Mac Miller and Anderson.Paak, Morrell comes with his own infectious, entertaining and versatile style that seamlessly blends his pen game and vocal abilities. Growing up writing poetry, in a family home playing Fleetwood Mac and Queen to drama classes at school and discovering both Eastcoast and Westcoast rap in his teens, it ignited a natural gravitation for Morrell towards songwriting and performing as a next creative outlet. Great showmen through the ages such as Freddie Mercury, Elton John, and Mick Jagger have inspired Morrell to inject charismatic energy into his artistry, demonstrated on record, in his visuals and on stage. Off the back of a handful of singles produced by Addzy of Australian band Jakubi and Grammy-nominated Häzel, and various live performances in his hometown, Morrell is now ready to set the global stage alight with his debut E.P ‘Fortune Favours the Brave,’ backed by Label Worx. It showcases Morrell’s playful ease of styles that define his sound — dripping in catchy hooks and melodies, and vibes aplenty.
