Yuri graduated from Otis College of Art with a B.F.A. in Fashion Design. After interning and working for many different big brand names in Downtown Los Angeles, she decided to pursue expanding her skills and venture outside of California. She has studied abroad in London and Paris for fashion design and then eventually New Zealand.
She has traveled abroad for a few years seeking somewhere new and different. Her first big city outside the U.S. being Wellington, New Zealand, an emerging city of art for a few years where she was exposed to the different lifestyle and sustainable design. She is now currently based in Tokyo, Japan, where fashion and creativity is boundless, constantly thriving with potential. Her love for film has grown since her new life in Tokyo, where there is a community and passion for film. In this city, she has met many creatives and is continuously pushing to learn and carry her craft further.
As a designer, she draws inspiration from the cities she’s lived in, always seeking ways to approach challenges and create creative content. Her eye for aesthetics and attention to small details carried into her field as a photographer. The subjects, environments and approach she takes with her work are an extension of her own lifestyle – emphasizing her values and passion for design, minimalism, and active lifestyle.
Her work covers a range of categories such as street, fashion, lifestyle, interior and product, often blending more than one together. Shooting with a mix of digital and film, as well as a unique color palette, she creates stills with a nostalgic, yet modern feel.
